On Tuesday, Caltech ended a 310-game conference losing streak by defeating Occidental College 48-47. It was the longest active streak in all NCAA sports, dating back to 1985. To give you an idea of just how long that is, TSL has compiled a list of events that have happened since Caltech last won a SCIAC game. Enjoy.

- The WWF became the WWE, WrestleMania debuted, and Shawn Michaels’ entire career happened.

- Al Gore invented the internet, lost an election, grew an unfortunate beard, and released a movie.

- Speaking of unfortunate implosions... Chernobyl.

- Michael Jackson went from black to white to court to dead.

- For Caltech readers, the entire Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise TV series took place, and seven Star Trek feature films were released.

- Katie Holmes turned six. Tom Cruise starred in Top Gun.

- The Euro was adopted by 17 nations.

- O.J. Simpson was arrested, acquitted, found guilty in civil court, released, arrested again for a much lesser crime, and finally imprisoned.

- Timothy McVeigh and Ted Kaczynski (a.k.a. the Unabomber) were caught.

- Nelson Mandela was released from prison. Fun fact: his prison sentence was only one year longer than Caltech’s losing streak.

- The price of a pair of Nike Air Force Ones (released in 1986) went from $54.90 to $125.
