P-P, CMS Women’s Tennis

The CMS women’s tennis team will close their regular season by playing 6th Street rivals Pomona-Pitzer. The Athenas (3-3 SCIAC) will travel to Pomona to face the Sagehens (5-0). The Sagehens, ranked seventh in the country, are the heavy favorites on their home courts, however CMS will be gunning for the upset. Defending Divsion-III national champion Siobhan Finicane PO ’10 suffered one of her two losses last year to the Athenas.

P-P, CMS Men’s Tennis

The 6th Street rivals will clash again this weekend, this time at CMS’s tennis center. The Stags (6-0 SCIAC) will tangle with the Sagecocks (4-2). The Stags are coming off a 9-0 thumping of Redlands, who beat P-P 6-3 earlier in the season, and all signs point to a CMS victory. However, P-P is coming in with momentum after back to back 9-0 sweeps over league rivals Cal Tech and La Verne and will look for the upset. P-P had the only SCIAC victory over CMS’s top doubles team of Larry Wang CM ’09 and Gui Schils CM ’09 last year.
