Tennises Travel to Individual Title Tourneys

With the SCIAC season complete and under their belt, the Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Tennis Team traveled to Ojai for the Division III Individual tournament and prepared for their upcoming regional battle against UC-Santa Cruz. Frosh Snipers Highlight Tourney Weekend

The Women’s Water Polo squad finished up their SCIAC season in third place after a weekend of up and downs at the Conference Championship at Redlands University.

The first day of competition, Friday, saw the women dominate two opponents, beating Occidental and Whittier behind 11 goals from utility player Jacquie Cole (’02). Cole scored six out of eight of the Sagehen goals in their 8-7 victory over Occidental and then five out of nine of their goals in a 9-5 victory over Whittier. [con't]

Four years and cloud of memories.

That’s right, by the time this is read, your humble sports columnist will be in (hopefully) sunny Newport Beach enjoying Senior Week in all its glory. The thought of me exposing my pasty body to the sun’s harmful rays while the rest of the school is cramming for finals might be tough to take, but let the thought linger.

This is it.

However, I’m going to use this final space to congratulate the winners of the Pomona-Pitzer Athletic Department’s annual awards. Most Valuable Athlete, Scholar Athlete, and Athletic Excellence awards for both sexes were handed out last night at the year-end banquet. [con't]
