Wednesday night’s meeting of the Claremont Architectural Commission in Hahn, along with a student protest last Thursday have increased the debate over the use of the Bernard Field Station (BFS).

Wednesday night more than 100 concerned students and citizens of Claremont gathered in the Hahn Building for the meeting of Claremont’s Architectural Commission. During this meeting the use of the draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) was discussed. Before public comment was heard three representatives of the Claremont University Center (CUC) made the case for the development of the field station. [con't]

New Senate Holds First Meeting

On Saturday April 24 the inaugural meeting of the newly formed Senate of the Claremont Colleges was held in Claremont McKenna’s new Roberts North building. OBSA Dean Leaves Questions

On April 16, Benita Ramsey resigned from her position as Dean of Students for the Office of Black Student Affairs, bringing to a close a six year tenure with the association. Ms. Ramsey, who officially resigned for health reasons, was replaced by Interim Dean Leeshawn Moore. Ms. Moore will serve as interim dean until June 30, after which time a new Dean will be selected to serve for the 1999-2000 school year. [con't]

Security Briefs

Thursday, April 22, 12:08pm. Security received a report that someone was spreading trash over the field at First Street and Mills Avenue. The officer was unable to locate the perpetrator. [con't]

Campus Events Commissioner Sesyle Moorhead ’99 announced the upcoming CCLA sponsored events, which are as follows: the Spring Formal to be held at the Claremont Inn this evening, a pool party on Sunday, and a block party on the last day of classes. [con't]
