McDevitt: SAT Low?
Editor,

I will trust others to point out the lack of logic and fact-checking in David McDevitt’s “We Have Higher SAT’s,” a recent letter to The Student Life. My concern is with Mr. McDevitt’s grammatical carelessness. The flurry of solecisms that punctuate his inflammatory letter makes it hard to take him seriously. If Mr. McDevitt wants to wear the Intelligent Hat, perhaps he should employ a proofreader. I cannot deny that the freshman class has impressive SAT scores, but—if his letter is any indication—Mr. McDevitt must be dragging down the average.

I am tired of the incessant complaints from the upperclassmen regarding snack. It's inappropriate to say that the juniors and seniors were taken by surprise by the change to Frank on Wednesdays. All of our representatives were vocal about their intent to move snack to South Campus. Instead of waiting for our representatives to take action (which I applaud), the North Campus folk could've tried to stop the move. Perhaps most of them didn't because IT'S NOT A BIG FUCKING DEAL. Its sorta pathetic that this is the hottest topic on campus. I can understand being upset that due process wasn't followed. That should be noted so it won't happen again. To the gluttonous juniors and seniors: calm down, you can have your cup of coffee and bowl of cereal every other day of the week. And I'm sorry you had to wake up at an ungodly hour to go to your ID classes, but don't blame us because you guys were too dumb to get that changed. Don't forget, "we have higher SATs."
