I Have Better Food in My Room
Editor:

Having read through the unbelievable pissing and moaning of a number of seniors in TSL, I thought I'd take this opportunity to fire back.

I am a freshman. I did not support any initiative to bring snack south once a week. On the contrary, I don't like having snack at Frank any more than you do. I agree that the process used to bring snack to Frank was far from ideal, and that the effect on dining hall workers should have been considered. With that in mind, it is totally unfair to accuse the freshmen of whining about having to go up to Frary for snack because, quite simply, I haven't heard anybody mention it since the class elections. I don't know who's been pressuring the south campus reps, but I haven't heard so much as a whisper. As far as I can tell, most of the whining is coming from up north.

I am totally astonished by how much people seem to care about this. To say that having snack right outside your door is a "privilege" is absurd. It's not about the convenience of getting the food, especially since I have better food right here in my room. To me, snack is more social than anything else, and that's why I prefer to have it off south campus. But when it was at Frank, I was not enraged. I find myself much more upset by the lack of quality cereal and chocolate chip cookies. Let's try to keep things in perspective.

Sincerely,

Tom Haley, '07
