Smith
Wrong
I am writing to you because
I would like to take issue with Nick Smith’s review
of The White Stripe’s new album, Elephant. I am
not criticizing him because of his poor review. Everyone
has their own tastes. My problem has to do with the
fact that in his rather harsh critique he made a few
important and obvious errors. First off, there is no
song called “I Want to Be Your Boyu.” The
song is called “I Want to Be the Boy to Win Your
Mother’s Heart.” Secondly, that song sounds
nothing like “Dead Leaves on a Dirty Ground.”
There is one song on that album that uses the same chord
structure as “Dead Leaves,” but it’s
called “There’s No Home for You Here Girl.”
I think it really makes him look quite unprofessional.
I mean, how hard could it be to check and make sure
you got the titles right?
Sincerely,
Jonathan Pidock
