ASPC Vice President Michio Brunner ’02 is responsible for the budget committee. Budgetary allocations will be available on the Senate web page.

Dean of Students Ann Quinley raised concerns that students do not know where to go for funding. Funding sources are different for alcoholic and non-alcoholic events. The proposed how-to book is one way to alleviate this problem, Communications Commissioner Dru Hilty ’02 said.

CCLA Forum

Commissioner for Campus Events Liz Fasse ’02 pointed out that CCLA is planning to restructure itself to allow more non-alcoholic events in the future. It will have a forum this week with groups such as POSA, KSPC and the Women’s Union to discuss how to diversify programming. Also on the agenda is planning for more big name concerts, Fasse said.

Speaker

Hilty reported that the speaker committee didn’t meet this week.

First-year Housing

Dean Quinley presented the plans for first-year housing for next year in a "freshman row." All freshmen would be housed on South Campus.

DDP Poll

A poll of students revealed apathy on the part of the students regarding the proposed requirement. The Senate is unable to take a stand based on the student poll. Academic Affairs Commissioner Scott LaBoda ’03 said he would still present the proposed requirement to faculty and work to get the requirement passed.

Editor-in-Chief

The selection of next year’s Editor-in-Chief of The Student Life has been postponed by the Print Media Committee.

Angel Tree Program and Charitable Giving

Community Affairs Commissioner Supriya Patel ’04 said a letter would be going out to students asking for donations for charities during the holiday season. The Senate collectively opted to adopt two children, a boy and a girl. The senators will contribute out of their own pockets.

Co-Ed Housing

Residence Halls and Food Mike Rush ’04 is investigating the possibility of co-ed housing by asking other colleges how their policies work.
