Flying the Not-so-Friendly Skies
Fall break is quickly approaching; Thanksgiving is not too far away; and Christmas vacation is nearing at an alarming rate. Pomona students, Americans, and the rest of the world will be flooding airports similarly, though perhaps in slightly fewer numbers, to how they have each and every year around this season.

Judicial Proceedings Should be Open
For a college where there is so much emphasis placed on dialogue and discussion about issues such as politics, race and gender, one would think that the spirit of frank and open communication would extend to all aspects of our residential life here at Pomona.

Harassment Policy Inadequate
We are writing this letter to express our extreme dissatisfaction with the way the physical and verbal assault of Valorie Thomas by two Pomona College students has been addressed by Pomona College. There are several aspects of this incident that we feel have been handled in a way that is unacceptable to us as members of the Pomona College and the Claremont College community as a whole.
J-Board Policies Sexist in Nature
The rule of law is essential to any organized community. Pomona College is no exception. A sense of justicebasic fairnessis the principle goal of any legitimate system of rules. And for rules to be just, they must come about through a fair and established process.
AAMP Defends Close-Knit Community
Justin Durivages article "Students Should Be Aware of Racial Cliques on Campus" in the September 28th issue of TSL brought up a point of view that is not uncommon at Pomona. Dont Misjudge Friends as Cliques
The article, "Students Should Be Aware of Racial Cliques on Campus" in the September 28 issue represents the self-centeredness of White American culture. The article was merely a more sophisticated way of saying, "Dude, like, why do all the Black kids sit together?"
Senior Speaks on Race at Pomona College
It is my senior year at Pomona and in the last four I have learned a lot. Much of it has been about other people and more has been about myself. I think that I have finally become a woman, aware of myself in relationship to other women, strong and sufficient even alone.
Portrayal of Racial Cliques is Inaccurate
Durivage states that white students are "not doing enough" regarding the problem of racial division. But is the social well-being of minority students the responsibility of white students?
Music Fan Praises Band Reviews
I just wanted to write a quick note and tell whoever it is that is in charge of the music section at TSL that they are quite possibly one of my favorite people right now.
