By Sam Brenner

Ah, the Miss America pageantthat special event that each year draws millions of Americans to their televisions to witness hokey beauty queens with perma-grins prancing around in bikinis and five-inch stilettos. This is family-friendly programming, folks.
Ji Learns to Dance

After my editor broke my heart by telling me that the article I had already partially prepared for this issue of the TSL was less palatable than a pint of cows blood, I had a good cry. I had been "reassigned." I had been demoted from detective to the lowly parking beat.
Come to Papa!!!!

I wish I could be writing to you, my beloved readers, with better news. Sadly, my bed sheets are still clean, as no freshman girl chose to ravage me over the weekend. Mind you, this is not for lack of trying, I had a very clear and pointed strategy: begin drinking on Tuesday night and maintain course until no earlier than Sunday morning.

Goin to the Chapel, Pomona College Style

Im sure by now all of you freshmen have done exactly what every other Pomona student, including myself, has done at one time or another: youve browsed through "the menu" in hopes of finding the man or woman of your dreams.

From the dining halls to the dorms to the classroomseveryone on campus seemed to be talking about the tragedies in New York City and Washington, D. C. last week. Noted Chicana author Sandra Cisneros was no exception. Little Bridges Opening Diverse, Uneven
By Caterina Kernodle
Staff Writer
Last Saturday evening, while others were bustling about screwing and being screwed by their roommates, I attended the Music Departments "Bridges Unveiled" concert. This concert is part of a series commemorating the re-opening of Little Bridges, which has until recently been under renovation. William Peterson and the enigmatic Tom Flaherty introduced the concert at seven. Necks craned to observe the newly restored roof and the new addition of side balconies to the stage.

I dont know where my passport is if you guys dont have it, but I imagine you do have my birth certificate. They just need to photocopy it so Id be sending it right back.
Once Again, The Glass House Delivers
By Cyrys Dioun
Staff Writer
Just a five minute drive away, The Glass House is the most reputable concert venue accessible to Pomona students. This venue, located by the Pomona Arts Colony, feels like a small club, but is spacious enough to hold a lot of people. Last week I saw the Plea For Peace Tour, which was my first, but definitely not my last, concert there.
Drunk Folks Are Fun

Something about staring hazily into a toilet bowl at 3 a.m. really puts your life into perspective. Maybe its the feeling of stomach tearing itself to shreds while your limbs cant seem to keep themselves together long enough to drag your sorry ass a few feet into bed. This is probably the lowest point in your college career (aside from that time you were locked out of your room, naked, when someone pulled the fire alarm).
Students Suggestions for Speaker Suspect
By Coty Meibeyer
Arts & Features Editor
As you may have heard, ASPC is looking for speakers to come to the college, ostensibly to enlighten and entertain us. At the last Senate meeting, such illustrious figures as Spike Lee and Margaret Cho were bandied about and in a recent Digester, pleas were made for us to make use of our affluent Pomona College "ins" to draw the rich and famous (and inherently more interesting).
