A Chance To Start Over Again

There is a new aura in the office tonight. The staff of The Student Life, so regularly predominated by juniors and seniors, is more than half made up of first and second year students. Any mention of what was once considered "TSL clique" or "culture" has no validity as the staff and leadership have changed. If only perceptions could be as fluid.

The Sound of Silence

CLEAR Channels, one of the nations largest distributors of music to radio stations, last week sent out to its contracted stations a list of songs to be banned from broadcasting because of questionable lyrics. A quick look at the list of banned songs suggests that they all have a keyword in the title in some way connected to Tuesday’s hijackings and terrorist attacks. Over 100 songs were banned.

Room Painting Fines Are Unfair

The doubled fine of $100 a wall was only printed in the student handbook that was not distributed until registration, several days after people started to move in. Of course when people move they paint their walls before they unpack, so many people painted the walls before they knew of the new fines. A fair warning would have been nice.
