Subject: the usual reminders

What is this parking ticket that we just received that hasn’t been paid yet? You should call the credit card people (800-876-9119, 24 hrs/day) to make sure they don’t put EarthLink charges through again. So how did they get your credit card number? Five courses is too many, when you haven’t shown you can ace four.

You may want to take your driving course during your October break. Don’t wait until the last minute. Did your roommate find out about his relatives? We’re having to show our ID badges to drive in at work, but I keep forgetting mine. Fortunately, our cops know me.

Keep studying.

Love,

Mom

That parking ticket should be paid off, I sent in the check right before I left for school. As for the five courses. I’m dropping neuropsych. I don’t need it to complete my major, and it is at nine in the morning. Once I drop it, my first class MWF is at ten.

So that’s pretty sweet. I think I would be able to handle the five classes if it weren’t for my work schedule. Two jobs add up to quite a commitment, but at least I can do my homework at one of them. I’ll give the credit card people a call, but I still haven’t any idea how Earthlink would get my card #. I’ve never done any sort of business with them. John heard from everyone in his family, and they’re all okay. So that’s good.

True, you paid the parking tiket...15 days late. So it went to $32 and someone at Hill Road ignored the second notice and it went to $51. The 3rd notice sat at Hill Road for a few days and was picked up yesterday. I’m presently negotiating with the parking people, but bailing out the parents of slacker scofflaws who ignore deadlines is not in their job description. I note below that you seem to think dropping a course so as to sleep later is a positive development worthy of approbation.

Of course, it’s simply another indication of how drugs have completely warped your thinking process and continue to drive you to academic, professional, and personal destruction. You are writing to two people who mastered the college experience, never missed a breakfast, and loved early morning classes (of course, we weren’t wacked out on drugs every night and unable to get it together in the morning.)

Love,

Dad
