Charity? Is That Really a Thing?
Wow. The word has always been that too many Pomona College students are ridiculously apathetic, but Wednesday nights charity auction at Snack seemed to prove that, when given a setting in which were able to eat, procrastinate, and listen to two guys in cowboy hats, were more than willing to spend a lot of money on a lot of things that we never knew we wanted.

Shawn Addresses Capertonianism
I would like to respond to Rich Capertons opinions piece last week. He speaks of the "weakness" of Pomona Colleges democracy, and I am hoping to address some of his concerns, specifically those that pertain to ASPC.
Graham-Silverman Explains TSL
I was going to respond to Andrew Kaspers letter to the editor from the Feb. 16 issue, hoping to let Kasper know some of the reasons behind his perceived paucity of character and lack of journalistic integrity in the pages of TSL. Now that the Feb. 23 issue is out, he may never read it, but I will proceed anyway.
Colleges Should Reconsider BFS
CUC and the Colleges have largely succeeded in persuading the community that KGI must be built on BFS in order to fulfill their obligations to those who purchased the land. Fortunately (for BFS), the Colleges are lying.
There are two trusts that govern usage of the land which BFS occupies: the Scripps and Bernard Trusts. In 1926, Ellen Browning Scripps purchased 250 acres of land north and south of Foothill. The Scripps Trust specifies that the land shall be used for "educational purposes," but grants Scripps "uncontrolled discretion to
manage all said property without interference from anyone."
Hilty Corrects V-Day Coverage
In your Feb. 23rd issue, the news section ran a front page story by Kari Johnstone entitled "V-Day Tickets Counterfeited." Ms. Johnstone states, "Refunds for tickets are unlikely, however...because the incident was not caused by overselling tickets." This is incorrect.
