Security Briefs

1/26/01 1:15pm

Several students were performing skateboard tricks near the bell tower; Campus Security advised them of campus policy.

 

5:51pm

A student reported a loud banging noise coming from below her room in Norton Clark. Campus Security could not locate the noise. The student said it stopped just after she reported it.

 

1/27/01 12:53am

An unconscious male student was found with other students who were attempting to put him in a car. Campus safety called the paramedics and the intoxicated individual was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital.

 

5:00pm

A student in Oldenborg reported a pink liquid dripping from the ceiling in a bathroom.

 

1/28/01 1:50am

An alumnus, drunken to unconsciousness, was laying outside of Wig surrounded by students. When Campus Safety tried to approach him, the students blocked their way. The Claremont Police were called in to disperse the students so that paramedics could reach the man. He apparently woke up during the treatment and refused it, because the students carried him inside and he spent the night in the room of a Wig resident.

 

1/29/01 12:30am

Student in Mudd-Blaisdell said she saw a man wearing a dark letterman jacket and jeans trying to steal her roommate’s laptop. The student yelled and the subject ran away.

 

About the same time, in Oldenborg, a man opened an unlocked door- the student who occupied the room was later unable to find her keys, which had been in her door

 

A first year called campus safety to report three suspicious people, one fitting the description of the man seen in Mudd-Blaisdell, in the lobby of Walker

 

It was confirmed that the individuals were not Pomona students and had taken the keys of the girl in Oldenborg. One of the individuals also entered the room of a Mudd-Blaisdell resident and stole her purse while she was sleeping.

 

12:18pm

Skateboard stolen from southeast side of Rains

 

1/30/01 10:29am

A faculty member left a white bag and a cell phone in Mason for a brief time. They were gone when she returned.

 

2:00pm

Student reports a missing bike in Clark I. He called maintenance because it had been chained to a stairwell, but they did not have the Trek 2000, valued at approximately $550.

 

2:50pm

A student reported a bike stolen from a rack outside of Lyon. He said that the KHS mountain bike, valued at approximately $550 was cable locked to the rack.

 

8:54pm

Campus Safety responded to an intruder alarm at the Sagehen Café. They noticed that the south door was open and secured it.

 

10:12pm

A student called campus safety to report a missing purse. She said she might have lost it or it could have been stolen.
