Administrations Actions Stifle Workers Support Committee

This semester, 136 Aramark workers completed evaluations of conditions in the dining halls which reflected less than desirable working conditions. Workers reported low pay, inability to afford health care or retirement benefits, and frequent mistreatment. These workers are primarily people of color.

In this context we can begin to see how effective the letter attached to every workers paychecks saying "A union can cost you your job" was as an intimidation tactic. Or how when a manager stands behind a group of workers talking about the union on their break, there is a deep-seated and real fear that is evoked.
