Political Parties Don’t Speak to Populace
By Jacob Ganz
Opinions Associate

One of the things I did over my spring break, other than sleep and watch copious amounts of television, was to vote in a small local election. The only thing that was on the ballot was a renewal of a school bond levy, but all the same, it felt good to participate in local government. Go to article

Negative Political Campaigns Have Positive Results
By Adam Rick
Contributing Writer

I had occasion to defend myself this week after displaying an ASPC campaign poster in Wig. The poster in question accused a political opponent of actively betraying the student body, albeit in a roundabout way, through her previous actions as an officeholder.

By Rob LaBuda
Contributing Writer

When I tell people about the recent forced relocation of Navajo Indians, the most common response I receive is "I didn’t think that sort of stuff still happens."

What these people don’t know is that since 1974, the United States government has been carrying out a relocation of the Navajo that has resulted in thousands of deaths, and has been labeled by many as "cultural genocide."The reason behind the relocation? Money. Go to article

Racism Alive, Kicking on Pomona Campus
By Johntell Washington
Contributing Writer

In my stroll across campus today, I carried out my civic duty and removed all fliers along my path advertising an info session on racial profiling practices in Claremont. Let me state right now that my actions were not altogether defendable; however, enough is enough, damnit. I’ve just about had it with the nauseating hypocrisy demonstrated by this school’s faculty, students, and administrators on the issue of race relations–your actions simply don’t match your rhetoric.
