Pitzer: Beware A Close Campus
At last weeks architectural Master Plan open discussion at Pitzer, its students complained about the droves of their classmates vacating the premesis on weekends, the separatism between different groups lounging on the Mounds, and a lack of central and functional student center or multi-purpose public meeting places.

Prop 21 Wrong By Many Counts
A vote of yes on Proposition 21, the Gang Violence and Juvenile Crime Prevention Initiative, is a vote to drag more young people into Californias corrupt and ineffective criminal justice system.

College Withheld Crucial Info
This letter is in response to Professor Richard Worthingtons recent attempt ( TSL, February 25) to contradict my earlier comments (TSL, February 11) on the behavior of President Peter Stanley, Dean Hans Palmer and Prof. Worthington himself during (and prior to) the February 4 faculty meeting.

Fraternity Members Intimidate
Fraternities argue that they should be given access to school alcohol funding because without fraternities, "there would be no social life on campus." Yet they have never questioned whether or not the social life created by fraternities is necessarily good.

Petty Arguments Should be Bloody
I attended a Long Beach, California high school of about thirty-five hundred kids right in the middle of the rich and poor sides of town. When I didnt have marching band practice at lunch, I would eat in the quad with some of the other band geeks.

Those Critical of TSL Betray Bias
As a CMC student I did not understand the majority of the jokes in the now famous "joke issue" which was published last semester. I dont know anyone who writes for TSL, and I dont know any of the people who were mentioned in the issue.

Dont Let TSL Run Willy-Nilly
I think that the way you guys have been treating my boys Danny, Robi, and Conor is despicable. How could you have been so unfair to them? I used to enjoy Conors contributions to The Student Life (who can forget the hilarious "Random Club" article or his informative "By the Numbers" column?), but now it seems like all he can do is write letters to the Editor?

Selb Does Not Have the Jazz

While I cant say I agree with the conclusions Mr. Gaertner draws about the disintegration of hip-hops subcultural roots based on the current behaviors of mainstream artists, I am responding to the most inane dissemination of misinformation Ive ever read on the subject, courtesy of Justin Selbs response letter in the last issue of TSL.

Mikey Advises: "Come Correct"
Mr. Selb: it is quite obvious that you didnt do your homework. Not only did you neglect to do your research, but you neglected to write a response that pertained to the arguments in my article, young man. Time to go back to school, son. First class is Hip-Hop 101.

WSC, Landrum Protestors Lame
I would like to comment on all of the whining going on about the WSC vs. Aramark squabble [see "Aramark, WSC Spar Over Business Practices"]. If Aramark were to pay the kinds of wages that the WSC wants, the students would not be able to afford the service and would have to eat elsewhere.
